Project Architect

Jacob A. Kanner, AIA has been a licensed architect in New York since 1991. After graduating from Pratt Institute with a Master of Architecture in 1982, he worked in has worked architecture primarily in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens ever since, he has worked throughout New York City. Originally from Israel, he appreciates the diversity ofin culture and architecture in New York City. He brings decades of experience in the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission and NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) code compliance, Landmarks Preservation Commission code compliance, administrative reviews and permitting process.

Jacob Kanner and Evangeline Dennie of A.I. Design Lab have partnered on architectural interiors projects since 2006. Kanner was the Architect of Record and collaborated with Evangeline Dennie for Oulu Bar and EcoLounge in Brooklyn, NY where he oversaw the code compliance and the permitting process for the existing building’s alterations. The project ultimately graced the cover of Hospitality Design Magazine (Greening the Bar, March, 2008), was featured in the book published by Braun, called 1000x Landscape Architecture, as well as featuredarticled in several magazines and blogs, including as Azure Magazine and Treehugger.

For the last 7 years, Jacob Kanner’s and Evangeline Dennie’s work together has resulted in a strong professional relationship of mutual trust, respect, and synergy.  Kanner provides the technical and building permitting process expertise, which compliments the architectural and interior design concepts of A.I. Design Lab. This supportive dynamic creates the blueprint for A.I. Design Lab’s creative environment and innovative designs.
